Sarasota Opera
Sarasota Opera produces impassioned opera performances true to the vision of the composer, to entertain, enrich, educate, and inspire a life-long love of opera in our diverse and growing communities.
The historic Sarasota Opera House is a treasure trove of interesting facts and backstage information. Tour the theater with our knowledgeable staff who will share the theater's fascinating past and inside information on Sarasota Opera's world-class productions.
Tours last an hour and a half and are given every Monday at 10:30 a.m. from February 26 to March 25 when we are in season. Public tours can be scheduled by contacting the Box Office at (941) 328-1300.
Asolo Repertory Theatre
On The Ringling campus, the Asolo is one of Florida's premier professional theatres and is one of the most important cultural forces in the Southeastern United States. A center for theatrical excellence, Asolo Rep stages up to 15 productions every season, spanning a diverse repertoire of newly commissioned plays, bold reinterpretations of contemporary and classical works, and provocative new musical theatre experiences.
Enjoy performances in the Mertz Theatre, a beautifully restored 530-seat facility originally built in 1903 as an opera house in Dunfermline, Scotland. Asolo Rep occasionally performs in the intimate and contemporary 161-seat Cook Theatre, also housed in the center.
Project Pride SRQ
Project Pride SRQ is a Sarasota-based nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding awareness and understanding of the LGBTQ+ community by creating strategic partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and governments towards a shared goal. From providing youth scholarships to organizing local gatherings, Project Pride has brought together LGBTQ+ and allied partners since 2019 to build capacity, support, and a vision for an all-inclusive community where everyone is equally united, supported, and celebrated in Sarasota and beyond.
